Boulder is back to Munich, where nine IFSC World Cups were organised between 2010 and 2019.
The IFSC European Cup Seriers 2025 is set to kick off with the first Boulder competition of the year, taking place at the same iconic venue that previously welcomed nine IFSC World Cups between 2010 and 2019: the Olympiapark in Munich, Germany.
Known for its Climbing history, the city also hosted the multi-sport European Championships in August 2022, with Boulder, Lead, and Speed competitions being contested at Königsplatz along with beach volleyball.
This year’s season opener will feature a mix of Europe’s best athletes and ones to watch for the future, with more than 160 participants representing 32 nations. Among the climbers registered to compete in the men's event is Samuel Richard of France, Boulder gold medallist at last year’s Youth European Championships in Troyes, France; and Tokyo 2020 Olympian Michael Piccolruaz of Italy.
In the women's event, Austria’s national champion Lea Kempft will headline the field of competitors, also including the gold medallist from last year’s closing European Cup in Genova, Italy – Martina Burisikova of Slovakia.
Finally, the German home team will enlists 16 athletes, including Thorben Perry Bloem, silver medal winner in Genova; young talent Anna Maria Apel, Boulder bronze medallist at the IFSC Youth World Championships Guyang 2024; and Paris 2024 Olympian Lucia Dörffel.

Qualifications and semi-finals of the IFSC European Cup Munich 2025 will be live streamed on the IFSC Europe YouTube channel, while both finals will be exclusively broadcasted by German national television ARD.
