HOME TEAM SHINES IN WOMEN’S FINAL
The women's podium was dominated by local German athletes, with Afra Honig placing in first position with 84.3 points, and Lucia Dörffel finishing third and taking the bronze with 74.8.
“It feels super crazy, I didn’t expected it. But winning in front of my home crowd is just amazing, and sharing the podium with Lucia is the cherry on top!” said Hönig. “We trained a lot together this winter and sharing the first international podium of the season is just great.
“My main quote while talking to German television was ‘I think I left my brain at home today and just let my body do the work.’ And I’d say it did a pretty good job!”
Winning the first silver medal of the season was Flora Oblasser of Austria, who closed with 74.9 points – just 0.1 ahead of Dörffel.
