FRANCE DOUBLES GOLD TALLY IN NEOM WITH AGATHE CALLIET

The French 21-year-old was the only climber able to top all four boulders.

Day two at the NEOM IFSC Masters 2024 presented the second gold medal of the event to Team France – namely to Agathe Calliet, who added women’s Boulder gold to the one won by her teammate Manu Cornu on the day before.

Calliet was the only athlete among the six finalists finishing with a four top-score – 114 points – as he flashed her first three problems and took seven attempts to secure the fourth and final one.

Alongside Calliet on the podium was Evangelina Briggs of Canada and Ievgeniia Kazbekova of Ukraine. The two athletes ended up being separated by just one point: Briggs closed with 90 and took silver, while Kazbekova needed one more attempt to top boulder number three, eventually placing third and winning bronze.

Japanese climber Nakamura Mao finished just outside of the medal positions, taking another fourth place with 84 points.

Speed-specialist-turned-Boulder-lover Agnese Fiorio of Italy closed in fifth position with 69 points, and Margarita Agambayeva of Kazakhstan finished sixth with 45.
