The Santiago 2023 corporation informs the national and international press agencies about the system and dates of the media accreditation process for the Pan American Games which will take place from October 20th to November 5th and will gather 7,000 athletes coming from 41 countries of the Americas.
PHASE 1 – PRESS BY NUMBERDates: January 16th to March 15th, 2023
The media that belong to the 41 participating countries need to get in touch with their respective National Olympic Committee (NOC) to express their interest in covering the event, register a person responsible, the number of people they wish to accredit, their respective functions (E, EP, ENR), address, number, and email.
The press organizations that don’t belong to a country participating in the Pan American Games must get in touch through the email press.accreditation@santiago2023.org
TYPE OF PRESS ACCREDITATIONCATEGORY E – JOURNALIST
Functions: Journalist, editor, photo editor hired by a national or international news agency, a general newspaper, a sports newspaper, magazine or website, a digital journalist, or an independent journalist or freelance writer under contract.
CATEGORY EP – PHOTOGRAPHER
Functions: Photographer, technical photographer. They must follow the same criteria as category E.
CATEGORY ENR – MEDIA WITH NO RIGHTS
Member of a radio or television organization with no broadcasting or retransmission rights. The NOC will manage the accreditation process for the national agencies and freelancers. While Santiago 2023 will provide an accreditation process for the international news agencies, press organizations from countries outside the Americas and other international press organizations must request the specific spreadsheet required by writing to press.acreditacion@santiago.org .PHASE 2 – PRESS BY NAMEDATES: April 17th to June 23rd, 2023
The NOCs are responsible for leading the entire process, including submitting the requested data of the press professionals in their respective countries in the accreditation system provided.
ACCREDITATION PROCESSPARAPAN AMERICAN GAMES
There will be an exclusive process for the Parapan American Games that will be conducted with the National Paralympic Committees (NPCs), with July 3rd as its start date.
The media must get in touch with the NPC of their country. The press organizations that don’t belong to a country that participates in the Parapan American Games, or that don’t have an NPC, can get in touch through the email press.accreditation@santiago2023.org
