Villars 2024 presented two sets of Boulder medals, with France claiming two golds and one bronze. Great Britain and Israel also ended up on the podium.
The IFSC European Championships in Villars, Switzerland, reached its climax on Friday night with a great pair of Boulder finals, where the best European climbers battled it out on challenging problems, and a packed audience enjoy a spectacular show.
Women's Boulder
In the women’s final, Nailé Meignan of France emerged victorious after a very close and dreadful competition that kept the audience on the edge of their seats until the last moment. Meignan secured the gold with a final score of three tops and four zones, narrowly edging out her closest competitor, Ayala Kerem of Israel, who put up a strong fight and came very close to topping the fourth and decisive problem, which could have secured her the title. Kerem finished with three tops, four zones, and two attempts to top more than Meignan. Bronze went to another French climber, Agathe Calliet, who placed third, also with three and four, but an even higher number of attempts.

Men's Boulder
Sam Avezou of France claimed the gold medal in the men’s final after an intense showdown. Coming straight from his recent participation at the Olympics, Avezou demonstrated remarkable consistency and composure. He finished with a final score of two tops and four zones, sealing his victory in an exciting, difficult final.
The men's Boulder podium was completed by two British climbers – Maximillian Milne and Dayan Akhtar – both finishing with the same score as Avezou, but a higher number of attempts. Milne won Silver, Akhtar won bronze.

The energy in Villars was electrifying as the crowd cheered on every attempt, creating an unforgettable atmosphere for both athletes and spectators alike. Notably, both gold medals were claimed by French climbers, highlighting their dominance in this event.
