IFSC Meets with IOC and Tokyo 2020 Team at the 135th IOC Session

On the occasion of the 135th IOC Session in Lausanne, Switzerland, IFSC President Marco Maria Scolaris and Head of Olympic Coordination Jérôme Meyer met with International Olympic Committee (IOC) members and officers, to discuss developments and ongoing challenges faced by the IFSC and Sport Climbing as a whole.

As Sport Climbing will participate in the summer Olympic Games for the first time in August 2020, the IFSC is working closely with the IOC and Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee, meeting regularly in both Lausanne and Tokyo to prepare for the Games.

“Preparations are now in their final stages for the Olympic Games and as such, Sport Climbing is immensely grateful for the support of both the IOC and the Tokyo 2020 team. From day one, the two parties have offered their full guidance to the IFSC as we’ve journeyed to become an Olympic Federation,” says IFSC President Marco Scolaris.
