While in Santiago, Chile for the XXI IFSC General Assembly, President Marco Scolaris took the opportunity to visit the headquarters of Pan Am Sports – the governing body of sports in the continent, and organiser of the Pan American Games – and meet with Neven Ilic, the President of the organisation.
“It’s been an immense pleasure to meet with President Ilic. We had a very pleasant and productive conversation, we started planning the future of our sport in the region, and I found great collaboration and recognition for Climbing from their side,” said the IFSC President.
Sport Climbing made its first appearance at the Pan American Games in Santiago last October, awarding four quota places for the upcoming Olympic Games Paris 2024 to USA’s Piper Kelly, Samuel Watson in Speed, and to Natalia Grossman, and Jesse Grupper – also representing USA – in Boulder & Lead.
