All the numbers of the IFSC World Cup in Chamonix, France, starting tomorrow with Lead qualifications.
Chamonix 2024 will be 399th Climbing World Cup event in the history of the Federation – including both UIAA and IFSC events – the 66th organised in France, 22nd in Chamonix. Only Kranj, Slovenia, has hosted more World Cup events: 25.
The counter Lead World Cup competitions will move to 227, while the Speed one will go to 137.
A total of 255 athletes from 38 countries and territories, and five continents are registered to compete. 72 women and 82 men in Lead, 44 women and 58 men in Speed.
HIGHLIGHTS
South Korea’s Kim Jain is set to compete in her 101st Lead World Cup competition, placing fourth in the all-time list. Also in women’s Lead, Hélène Janicot will make her 70th competition start, tying the French record held by Caroline Ciavaldini.
Italy’s veteran climber Stefano Ghisolfi is going to compete in his 81st World Cup in the Lead discipline, while his teammate Marcello Bombardi is making his 100th appearance in a World Cup of any discipline.
In men’s Speed, Italy’s Ludovico Fossali and France’s Guillaume Moro will be the most experienced athletes on the wall, respectively competing in their 46th and 45th Speed competition at World Cup level.

The IFSC World Cup Chamonix 2024 will kick off tomorrow morning at 9:00 (UTC+2:00) with Lead qualifications, followed by Speed qualifications at 18:50 and Speed finals at 21:00. Speed competitions will be live streamed on the IFSC YouTube channel, with geo restrictions being applied in some countries.
