IFSC WORLD CUP SALT LAKE CITY 2024: FACTS AND STATS

The third World Cup event of the year features the second Boulder and Speed competitions of 2024, with 191 athletes from 34 countries registered to compete.

Salt Lake City 2024 will be 397th Climbing World Cup event in the history of the Federation – including both UIAA and IFSC – the 22nd organised in the USA and the sixth in Salt Lake City.

The event will include the 150th pair of Boulder World Cup competitions, and the 136th pair of Speed.

In total, 191 climbers – 108 men and 83 women – are registered to participate, representing 34 countries and territories, and competing in four medal events: women’s Boulder, women’s Speed, men’s Boulder, and men’s Speed.

HIGHLIGHTS

Jakob Schubert of Austria will participate in his 55th Boulder competition – his 153rd World Cup appearance across the disciplines sitting second on the all-time list behind Canada’s Sean McColl who has 175 appearances.

Tomoa Narasaki of Japan makes his 50th Boulder World Cup appearance, his 79th in total across disciplines.

Canada’s Alannah Yip is the most experienced athlete in the women’s Boulder competition making her 35thappearance. All other competitors have under 30 appearances.

In Speed, there are no climbers with over 30 appearances in either the men’s or women’s competition.
