The Swiss and the Italian climbers have won the European Championships title at the end of an exciting night of Climbing action.
The IFSC European Championships in Villars, Switzerland, hosted a great pair of Lead finals, where eight men and eight women took on challenging routes that featured some tricky moves all the way up to the top. The passionate crowd in Villars enjoyed an incredible show as the climbers fought until the very end.
Women's Lead
In the women’s final, Laura Rogora of Italy climbed exceptionally well, overcoming her fellow competitors with a strong performance. She managed to top the route, but did so out of time, securing the gold medal nonetheless with the score of 45.
The silver medal went to Ievgeniia Kazbekova of Ukraine, who scored 39+. Lynn van der Meer from Netherlands claimed the bronze with a score of 38+.

Men's Lead
The men’s final presented an exciting challenge, with Sascha Lehmann of Switzerland hyping the home fans up by taking gold. Lehmann finished with the score of 45+, securing victory in front of an enthusiastic Swiss audience. Sam Avezou of France, who won gold in the men's Boulder event 24 hours earlier, finished in second place with 43+. Guillermo Peinado Franganillo of Spain secured the bronze with 39+.

The ninth and final competition day in Villars will feature two Boulder & Lead finals: the men's one starting at 10:00 (UTC+2:00), and the women's one closing the programme at. Both finals will be live streamed on the IFSC YouTube channel.
