THIRD STOP VILLARS FOR PARACLIMBING WORLD CUP

The IFSC Paraclimbing World Cup will once again visit the Swiss town of Villars-sur-Ollon as part of the 2023 World Cup season and is scheduled to take place on 23 and 24 June.

Paraclimbing World Cup Villars will be the third stop for the para-athletes ahead of the highly anticipated World Championships in Bern, Switzerland.

Located in the western Swiss Vaud Alps at an altitude of 1250m, Villars-sur-Ollon will welcome Paraclimbers from around the world for the second successive year to battle it out for World Cup medals.

IFSC President Marco Scolaris said:

“Our Paraclimbing World Cup series is such an important part of the IFSC calendar and confirming another stop in 2023 is down to the commitment of everyone involved to keep Paraclimbing moving on up.

“Our athletes want more high-quality events to show the world what they can do, and we want to make sure they have the platform to do that. We are in the running as an additional sport for LA28 and having successful events from organisers like Villars only strengthen our push for inclusion.”

The first Paraclimbing World Cup will take place in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA, on 16 and 17 May before moving on to Innsbruck, Austria, on 12 and 13 June.

Villars will then host before the new world champions will be crowned at the Paraclimbing World Championships in Bern, Switzerland, on 8 and 9 August.
