WHAT THEY SAID

Noe LOOSER (SUI):

“I’m really happy that I’m in finals. I enjoyed climbing a lot. I competed last year in Seoul and last year I was in finals as well when I finished eighth, so we will see tomorrow if I can do better than that. To make that happen I need to fight really hard but try to enjoy my climbing and have fun.”

Sarina GHAFFARI (IRI):

“The routes have been great, and I am really excited and proud as I can be to be here and climb in the finals. I was fifth place last year and I just need to climb with more confidence tomorrow to improve on that as I think confidence has so much impact on my climbing.”

Jack MACDOUGALL (GBR)

“I’m a little bit pumped, well a lot pumped, I had to go a lot further than I thought I would have to go. I’m in finals tomorrow so I’m relieved, I thought I wasn’t going to be for a minute so thank god.

“I haven’t done Youth Lead comps in a while but after having a really good qualis round earlier this morning definitely I wanted to make finals so I’m glad that I did for sure.

“I’m in finals so of course I’m going to go for a podium. I didn’t do Youth Worlds last year and I am psyched to be back as it’s my last year of Juniors and I wanted to make the trip to see what I could do in my last year. So far it’s going well, better than I thought it was going to go.”
