Poland, Germany, France, and Spain won gold at the IFSC European Cup organised at Level 24 Climbing Gym from 13 to 15 September.
The Lead and Speed European Cup in Bologna, Italy, concluded on Sunday, 15 September, marking the end of Lead and Speed competitions for the the 2024 European season.
It was the first European event after the European Championships in Villars, Switzerland, and it took place at Level 24 Climbing Gym in Casalecchio di Reno.
SPEED EVENTS
In the women’s Speed final, Anna Brozek of Poland claimed gold with the time of 7.52 seconds, beating Agnese Fiorio of Italy, who finished with 7.74. Giulia Randi of Italy secured the bronze medal by beating Franziska Ritter of Germany in 7.09 seconds.

In the men’s Speed event, Leander Carmanns of Germany won gold with the impressive time of 5.21 seconds in the final, after Ludovico Fossali of Italy – European Champion in Villars just a few weeks ago – fell in the gold medal race and had to settle for silver. In the race for bronze, Lukas Knapp of Austria placed third with 5.56 seconds, while Erik Noya Cardona of Spain also fell.

LEAD EVENTS
The women’s Lead final saw Ina Plassoux Djiga of France win gold after topping the route, while Belgium’s Héloïse Doumont came in second with a score of 52+, and Rosa Rekar of Slovenia took third place and a bronze medal with 49+.

In the men’s Lead final, Spain’s Guillermo Peinado Franganillo – bronze medalist in men’s Lead at Villars 2024 – took the top spot with a score of 36+, placing way ahead of France's Arsène Duval, who finished second with 30. James Jenkins of Great Britain completed the podium in third place with 25+.

The next European Cup Series event is scheduled to take place in Genova, Italy, from 5 to 6 October. Two Youth European events are also scheduled in the upcoming weeks: the IFSC Youth European Cup in Östermündigen, Switzerland, from 21 to 22 September; and the IFSC Youth European Championships in Troyes, France, from 25 to 29 September. All events will be live streamed on the IFSC Europe YouTube channel.
